Inspired by Independent booksellers across the country who came together to unite like-minded businesses and independent thinkers, IndieBound-Naperville is a local movement.
IndieBound-Naperville has been growing one merchant at a time since October 2008 with an exhibit of bright red signs that proclaim “Support local independent businesses.” IndieBound Naperville is an awareness. It's a celebration.
IndieBound Naperville is a passion that is pouring out of your locally-owned independent merchants and uniting kindred spirits everywhere in the common cause of keeping our city and our local culture thriving.
It is our individuality that distinguishes us; it is our individuality that unites us.
Join us to spread the word. Join the conversation to say, “I support local independently-owned businesses.”
Hundreds of kindred spirits co-exist right here in Naperville, connected by their love of independence and independents.
Become a member of IndieBound-Naperville to build your business network while building our community. Your business—retail shop, restaurant or service—can be listed here for $30. There's no paperwork, no unrealistic commitment, no outside obligation---just opportunities to join with us in support of each other, starting simply by prominently placing the bright red IndieBound-Naperville sign in your store window or business interior.
You'll have a monthly choice to discover how we work together and share ideas if you attend our monthly meetings, always held at somebody's business location. Attending meetings is an option that can pay dividends as you'll get more out of IndieBound-Naperville if you put a little time into it. But that's up to you.
When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for individuals to better promote what distinguishes our cities and our souls from the rest of the world, we must celebrate the powers that make us unique and declare the causes which compel us to remain independent.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all stores are not created equal; that some are endowed by their owners, their staff, and their communities with certain incomparable heights; that among these are Personality, Purpose and Passion.
The history of the present indies is a history of experiences and excitement, which we will continue to establish as we set our sights on a more unconstrained state. To prove this, let’s bring each other along and submit our own experiences to an unchained world.
We, therefore, the Kindred Spirits of IndieBound, in the name of our convictions, do publish and declare that these united minds are, and darn well ought to be, Free Thinkers and Independent Souls. That we are linked by the passions that differentiate us. That we seek out soul mates to share our excitement.
And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the strength of our identities, we respectively and mutually pledge to lead the way as we all declare that we are IndieBound! You’re one of us. We are IndieBound-Naperville.
